Job Type: Experienced Corporate Product Regulatory Engineer
Job Description Come join a creative global team of regulatory engineers dedicated to providing safe and compliant electronic products. The successful candidate will be an experienced, hands-on, regulatory compliance professional with knowledge of Product Safety, EMC and RF/Wireless devices. They will own all aspects of regulatory compliance (including driving continuous improvement) within the business groups being supported, and they will provide regulatory direction and guidance to product development engineering teams. This product regulatory engineer position will be responsible for: • Supporting design teams on product safety, wireless (radio frequency), and EMC related issues; • Managing internal/external laboratories to test products for product safety and regulatory compliance; • Working closely with product development teams to ensure compliance by reviewing engineering schematics and analytical test reports; • Comprehending implications of new technologies or design concepts and ensuring designs will conform to global standards • Following corporate procedures for risk analysis and design for compliance for electronic components, products, and systems • Responding to regulatory queries, incidents, and events related to Intel devices from other Intel groups and/or outside regulatory bodies; • Develop solutions to problems utilizing formal education and judgment. Strong analytical and project management skills required. Excellent oral and written communication skills are also required. Comfortable working in highly matrixed, international organization across functional teams and several geographies and working independently within the framework of Intel’s global regulatory team. Some travel will be required.
Minimum Qualifications - BS in Electrical Engineering, Physics or related technical field - Solid understanding of: - Fundamental product regulatory compliance concepts, - Electronics and physics
Preferred qualifications: - Solid understanding of:
* Fundamental safety concepts, testing standards, and risk analysis
* Fundamentals of RF circuitry, wireless technologies, and their regulatory requirements
* Fundamentals of EMC regulatory requirements and Fundamentals of Electronics and physics - MS in electrical engineering or physics or related field preferred. - Global product regulatory knowledge; inclusive of wireless & safety (including functional safety) - Experience with wireless RF test methods and equipment - Experience in the design of wireless/RF systems including antennas is highly desired.
